2. Application Review

Once your application has been submitted, please allow 5–7 business days for us to carefully review it. We will contact you to let you know whether your application has been approved or denied.

3. Meet and Greet

If your application is approved, we will schedule a FaceTime or Zoom call. This allows us to answer any questions you may have and gives us an opportunity to get to know you and your family better.

Training

Early Puppy Training Program

At Mountain Tails, we are committed to setting both our puppies and their families up for success. To help provide your puppy with a strong foundation, we offer an optional two-week early training program prior to your puppy going home.

This training program begins when your puppy reaches 8 weeks of age and includes instruction in basic skills such as:

  • Sit
  • Down
  • Come
  • Place
  • Crate Training
  • Potty Training

Puppies enrolled in this program will remain with us until 10 weeks of age, allowing additional time for socialization, confidence building, and the development of essential foundational skills.

The cost for this two-week training program is $350.

Our commitment to you does not end when your puppy goes home. We are always available to provide guidance, support, and training tips as you and your new companion begin this exciting journey together.

Please Note: Training is an ongoing process. In order for your puppy to retain and continue developing these skills, training should be consistently reinforced throughout puppyhood and into adulthood. Repetition and consistency are key to long-term success. We strongly encourage families to continue training as soon as their puppy arrives home, as this will help establish a strong bond and set both you and your puppy up for success.

Boarding

At Mountain Tails, we understand that not every family is able to pick up their puppy on the designated Puppy Pick-Up Day. To accommodate scheduling conflicts and travel arrangements, we offer an extended boarding service that allows your puppy to remain in our care until you are able to bring them home.

The cost for extended boarding is $10 per day.

During their stay, your puppy will continue to receive the same love, care, socialization, and daily attention they have experienced since birth.

Please let us know in advance if you anticipate needing extended boarding so that we can make the necessary arrangements and ensure the best possible care for your puppy.

Transportation

Don't live in Tennessee or are unable to pick up your puppy in person? Don't worry—we've got you covered!

At Mountain Tails, we offer both ground transportation and flight nanny services to help safely bring your new puppy home. Transportation services are available for an additional fee.

Ground Transportation

For families located within approximately 2 to 3 hours of our location, we offer ground transportation options to help make the transition as convenient as possible.

Air Transportation (Flight Nanny Service)

For families located farther away, we offer air transportation through a flight nanny service. This option is available for destinations more than 3 hours away, including any state within the continental United States and select U.S. territories.

Our goal is to ensure that your puppy arrives safely, comfortably, and with as little stress as possible.

Please contact us for transportation availability, pricing, and scheduling details.
